Enterprise Solutions Architects – Upstate NY, NJ, NYC metro or Philadelphia
Specific Technology Focus Areas Needed: Microsoft, VMWare & Systems and Networking

Purpose:

Design and consult on complex IT solutions, execute hands-on proof-of-concept proposals and/or solutions, in conjunction with our project management team, and provide IT thought leadership to our clients and our company. You will work across service and product lines to generate profitable business and assist our sales team in exceeding sales quota. You'll support multiple accounts and opportunities as needed, and have visibility to our most challenging and exciting technical projects with our prospects and existing clients. You will quickly overcome customer barriers to complex buying decisions and leverage your expertise to accelerate sales. You'll develop trust relationships with key decision makers and technical staff when engaged in on-site opportunities. You'll deliver increased customer loyalty, satisfaction and sales via the successful adoption of Versatile’s solutions. In addition to customer facing work, Versatile’s engineering, sales and marketing teams will seek your feedback, to ensure our solutions meet customer needs.

A Versatile Enterprise Solution Architect is an expert with in-depth knowledge in one or more product/solution areas: servers, virtualization, networking, storage, security and/or systems management. You’ll assess prospect and client requirements and recommend solutions. You’ll be asked frequently to validate recommended solutions with our customers via on-site pilots and proof of concept project engagements to ensure that the recommended solution effectively meets or exceeds our customers' expectations. This position can be identified by other industry terms such as Presales Solution Consultant, Presales Subject-Matter Expert, Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, Presales Engineer, Sales Engineer and Sales Consultant. It is an opportunity-driven position and you will be proactively engaged on a demand basis by multiple sales account teams.

Education & Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science or experience equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 5+ years demonstrated success designing and architecting complex enterprise solutions, delivering technical strategies and full life-cycle implementations in support of a clients’ business solution with SMB and/or Fortune 2000 preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to convert strategic goals and objectives into tangible steps and programs.
  •  Technical certifications and in-depth, specialized technical knowledge from at least two of the following HP, Cisco, EMC, Microsoft, VMware, or other similar professional certification required:
    • Enterprise-level IT infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, software, networks, services, etc.) This can include HP Networking (ProCurve) Storage, BladeSystem, ProLiant, IP networking, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, Microsoft Windows. Or, expert knowledge of competitive and supporting network, storage, security and networking technologies
    • CCIE, CCNA, HP Master ASE, etc.
  • Ability to interface and influence people at all levels within the organization. Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and translate technical concepts into practical business terms for leaders in both small and large group settings (this includes C-level Executives, VP's, IT Directors, Managers and Administrators); must speak fluent English;
Skills & Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of IT challenges and IT solutions - strong research capabilities to find best of breed software, technology and process
  • Hands-on experience deploying IT solutions -- strategic planning, roadmaps, architecture and design for infrastructures.
  • Superior consultative selling skills -- customer-facing and presentation skills - must be able to present persuasively to all size and level audiences
  • Experience using common industry tools and methods for requirements gathering and solutions design
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and coordinate areas for process improvement
  • Strong ability to collaborate with sales, engineering, senior leadership, clients and business partners to technology infrastructure solutions

Network Engineers – New England, Upstate NY, NJ, NYC metro or Philadelphia area

Purpose:

Assist in growing our consulting and managed services division specifically with networking expertise.  We focus on HP Networking and interested in adding more expertise to grow our HP business.  If you have the certifications, that’s great! If you don’t, but you have the hands on experience, we’ll pay to get you formally trained!  We’re interested in someone that wants to learn and grow with our engineering team.

Skills and experience

  • Experienced in designing, implementing, and supporting complex, highly available multi-protocol networks in a medium to enterprise size environment.
  • Knowledgeable on the following network technologies: TCP/IP, UDP/IP, RIP, OSPF, EIGP, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, ACLs, VLANs, SNMP, IPSEC, NAT, SSH, SSL, STP, MSTP, PVST, multicast, 802.1X, RADIUS, VLANs.
  • Strong knowledge in 802.11a/b/g and n wireless technologies: WEP, 802.1X, WPA/WPA2, TKIP, AES.
  • Experience with VoIP, QoS, and IP Telephony technologies.
  • Experience with network cable installations, i.e., CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, Multi-Mode Fiber, Single-Mode Fiber, Patch Panels and Cable Management systems.
  • In-depth understanding of network security and access control.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrated experience in researching and evaluating alternative solutions to recommend the most efficient and cost effective solution for client needs.
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills and a solid understanding troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues involving firewalls, routers, switches, WLAN and network applications.
  • Manage and consult on multiple large and small projects to meet business goals and objectives for both Versatile’s and the customer’s IT standards.
  • Maintain a current understanding of strategic business initiatives and how they relate to corporate goals and objectives.
  • Experience developing and implementing moderately complex LAN, WAN, and WLAN TCP/IP networks
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, participate in an on-call rotation and travel up to 25%.
  • Strong technical writing skills for project documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
Experience & Education:
  • 3 years of equivalent hands-on work experience.
  • IT industry certification in one or more of the following is required: ProCurve AIS, ASE, MASE, Cisco CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, CCIE, F5, Sonicwall, Fortinet, or Brocade/Foundry.

Inside Sales Executives– Marlboro, MA

Purpose:

Support the revenue growth of our networking consulting and managed services business by uncovering new business and supporting the Outside sales team in closing new business.

Skills & Knowledge

  • An inside sales professional with at least 3 years of experience successfully selling IT networking hardware, software and professional services directly into medium and large enterprise accounts.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving consistently strong sales numbers and sales growth within your account base.
  • Proven success at cold calling into accounts.
  • Self-starter with high energy, a strong sense of urgency and driven by compensation plans.
  • Ability to leverage current and past relationships with one or more existing, active buying accounts in the medium and large enterprise segment of the market a plus, but not required.

  • Take the lead in managing open orders to ensure they are attended to in such a way that orders get delivered to the customer as quickly as possible, and to confirm that all invoicing activity is taking place in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Learn and understand what programs are available with our manufacturer partners and supplies to ensure your maintaining profit for Versatile delivering value to our customers
  • Assist customers with Returns issues, order inquiries, and any other requests for information.
  • Develop successful relationships with customers, vendors, and internal departments with the goal of increasing the volume and profitability of the business.
  • Collaborate with outside sales to find incremental sales opportunities to sell deeper and wider into an organization

Education & Experience:

  • 4 year degree in business, marketing or sales, and/or 3 years of equivalent proven sales success.
  • Completed at least one professional selling class like Miller Heiman, Dale Carnegie or other home grown sales certification that enhances selling skills.

Configuration Manager – Marlboro, MA

Purpose:

Lead the creation and management of our configuration department to support customer satisfaction in small to large customer enterprise solution roll outs.  

Note: This is a new department, looking for an IT leader who can truly assess what is in place, and take the organization to the next level.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Current Windows and Linux operating systems and architecture
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Back Office programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that they
    are completed according to schedule
  • Intel and Linux system administration
  • Demonstrated experience with speeding up builds using a combination of both software and hardware improvements

Responsibilities include:

This includes hardware inventory management for development, QA, maintenance, support, and tech pubs and well as licenses and support agreements for major lab equipment and software
    • Procuring and deploying new systems in the lab
    • Maintaining an inventory of all systems deployed in the lab and systems in surplus that be made available to other engineers
  • Build management
    • Develop, maintain and improve the configuration infrastructure
    • Create and maintain official build servers
    • Computer site planning and preparation
    • Support engineering team in plans for onsite customer installations
    • Manage logistics for all IT products in and out of the company

Education & Experience:

  • 5 years of equivalent hands-on work experience
  • Experience with configuring HP Networking and Cisco switches
  • IT industry certification in one or more of the following is preferred: ProCurve AIS, ASE, MASE, Cisco CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, CCIE, server based, or Microsoft designations
