A perfect storm
When it comes to network infrastructures, we have entered murky, turbulent waters. For decades the landscape was dominated by a single vendor, technology budgets were vast and networks played bit roles in the grand scheme of enterprise operations.


Things have changed dramatically in the past few years, haven’t they? Cisco is now being challenged head-on by HP, which acquired 3Com to bolster its chances of victory. Customers, of course, are caught in the middle of this tug-of-war, constantly bombarded with marketing might and fear-inducing proclamations.
