Inside Sales Executives – Marlboro, MA

Purpose:

Support the revenue growth of our networking consulting and managed services business by uncovering new business and supporting the Outside sales team in closing new business.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • An inside sales professional with at least 3 years of experience successfully selling IT networking hardware, software and professional services directly into medium and large enterprise accounts.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving consistently strong sales numbers and sales growth within your account base.
  • Proven success at cold calling into accounts.
  • Self-starter with high energy, a strong sense of urgency and driven by compensation plans.
  • Ability to leverage current and past relationships with one or more existing, active buying accounts in the medium and large enterprise segment of the market a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledgeable in strategy networking partners’ product lines such as HP ProCurve, Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Nortel, etc.
  • Understanding of current networking technologies a plus.
  • Able to work on a team and support development and delivery of a solution.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on solving customer concerns and issues to ensure satisfaction pre and post sales.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including an ability to overcome customer objections
  • Strong and effective written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify prospects and establish new customer accounts by cold calling and following up on warm leads daily
  • Develop value-enhancing relationships with our strategic partners’ manufacturer inside and field sales teams. This includes understanding their market strategy, mapping and territories and incentive and key programs.
  • Proactively call & email prospects and customers in your account set to establish and grow relationships as well as develop strategies to acquire net new business in your region
  • Research and quote solution sales opportunities for product and service fulfillment, using all available resources to satisfy the customer requirements at an optimal cost to Versatile
  • Develop and help close sales opportunities using solution selling skills
  • Understand all our offerings and offer IT solutions to each client based on fact and proven solutions.
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to research and evaluate alternative solutions to recommend the most efficient and cost effective solution for client needs.
  • Maintain a current understanding of our strategic business initiatives and how they relate to corporate goals and objectives.
  • Build quotes to support your outside sales representative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Attend sales training (online and onsite) on network products and services and standards to remain abreast of developments and changes in the networking industry.
  • Accurately place sales orders into the system from customer-issued PO’s, and to follow those orders up to ensure their successful delivery within customer expectations.
  • Take a proactive role to resolve issues with customers and suppliers
  • Take the lead in managing open orders to ensure they are attended to in such a way that orders get delivered to the customer as quickly as possible, and to confirm that all invoicing activity is taking place in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Learn and understand what programs are available with our manufacturer partners and supplies to ensure your maintaining profit for Versatile delivering value to our customers
  • Assist customers with Returns issues, order inquiries, and any other requests for information.
  • Develop successful relationships with customers, vendors, and internal departments with the goal of increasing the volume and profitability of the business.
  • Collaborate with outside sales to find incremental sales opportunities to sell deeper and wider into an organization

Education & Experience:

  • 4 year degree in business, marketing or sales, and/or 3 years of equivalent proven sales success.
  • Completed at least one professional selling class like Miller Heiman, Dale Carnegie or other home grown sales certification that enhances selling skills.

Other Skills:

  • Self motivated and goal driven, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Background formulating customer proposals.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Outstanding organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills - must be able to manage multiple, simultaneous commitments
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, status actions items, respond to changing priorities, and react to short deadlines
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment (sometimes virtually)
  • Ability to capture and document key meeting discussion topics, decisions, and actions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft MS Office products (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc), Visio
